Join us onsite on May 15 at 7:30 p.m. as The Braid and the LUNAR Collective present their Salon-Theatre production of What Do I Do With All This Heritage? a whimsical and thought-provoking journey into the lives of Asian American Jews as they reveal their true stories of holding two age-old traditions in their hearts.
The performance will run 1 hour and 15 minutes followed by a Q & A.
The Braid is the go-to Jewish story company creating, curating, producing and preserving stories grounded in Jewish culture and experience. Based in Santa Monica, California, the Braid develops, produces, distributes and preserves diverse contemporary Jewish stories that engage and educate individuals, inspire community, and build cultural legacy. Its pioneering new art form, Salon Theatre, a hybrid of storytelling and theatre, spotlights and mainstreams voices and experiences too often overlooked in both the Jewish community and secular world.
The LUNAR Collective cultivates connection, belonging and visibility for Asian American Jews through intersectional community programming and authentic storytelling. Launched in 2021 as LUNAR: The Jewish-Asian Film Project, an award-winning film series featuring 23 Asian American Jewish young adults in nuanced, unscripted conversation, they are now re-emerging as The LUNAR Collective, a space for learning, healing, expression, solidarity, and joy.
This program is brought to Temple Israel by the generous support of Combined Jewish Philanthropies.
