TILLI Winter Session: The “Jews for Blues” with Bob Philips and Company
The “Jews for Blues” program celebrates the profound impact that Jewish musicians, producers, and industry figures have had on the blues genre. By exploring the contributions of key figures such as Milt Gabler and Jerry Wexler, we aim to highlight how these individuals helped promote and elevate blues music, bridging cultural divides and fostering collaboration. This initiative not only honors the rich history of Jewish involvement in the blues but also emphasizes the significance of shared musical traditions and the enduring legacy of these influential figures in shaping the sound and reach of the blues. We will also be playing music from the decades of the "Blues Masters" as part of our program.
