Remembering the Holocaust: Stories from a Survivor, Jack Trompetter

Join us on April 28 for a special evening, beginning at 7:00 p.m. with a Yom HaShoah remembrance service led by Temple Israel Clergy as we commemorate and mourn the loss of so many lives. We will then hear from Holocaust survivor Jack Trompetter as he shares his story and provides a powerful and personal connection between the past and present. After hearing Jack's story there will be an opportunity for Q&A and conversation.
This is a mixed presence event. Join us onsite at Temple Israel or online via Zoom. Register to join us. All are welcome for this full community gathering. Contact cajl@tisrael.org with questions.
Jack Trompetter, born in 1942 in Nazi-occupied Holland, survived the Holocaust as a hidden child. Shortly after his birth, his father was arrested, and the family was forced to go into hiding. Jack was separated from his parents and placed in the care of several protectors, including the DeGroots family, who sheltered him on a farm near the German border.
Despite the constant danger, Jack and his parents survived, thanks to the courage of those who risked their lives to hide them. Today, Jack shares his story to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive and to educate future generations about the horrors of the past.
This Yom Hashoah, we honor Jack Trompetter's remarkable journey and his dedication to Holocaust remembrance.
