Immigrant Justice and Action Within Our Reach: Next Steps

Immigrant Justice

On Friday night at Qabbalat Shabbat we heard special guest Gladys Vega, CEO of La Colaborativa, speak about immigration issues close to home in Chelsea, as well as a few TI congregants who also shared their experiences with immigration justice. Watch a video recording.

Here are six actions you can take:

  1. Volunteer in the La Colaborativa food pantry
  2. Receive training on how to be a witness in Chelsea, helping to prevent the disappearing of people without accountability
  3. We are seeking lawyers of any kind to support and advise the La Colaborativa community as they navigate this situation
  4. Offer a place in your home to individuals needing to move and seek safety
  5. Join our Immigrant Justice listserv to stay up to date with our legislative opportunities in partnership with MIRA, JALSA, and many others
  6. Donate to support the “Whatever It Takes Campaign.” Donations go directly to La Colaborativa’s critical stabilization services and triage teams.
